HARD work has reaped rewards for Sedbergh School Year 9 pupil Freya Noble who has won a place in the England girls’ under 14 basketball team.

Following an intense three-day training camp, Freya was selected in the squad that travel to Copenhagen, Denmark, at the end of this month to play in an international invitational tournament.

She has been involved in Basketball England’s Talent Pathway throughout this year and attended the England Talent Programme training camp during May half term.

“Being at the camp, surrounded by people who are either the same standard as you or better, really helped me push myself more,” explained Freya, who comes from the Stockport area.

She will travel with her new England team-mates to Copenhagen on June 21 where they will compete against teams from all over the world.
