I read the report 'Fury over car park operation at store' (Gazette, June 13).

I am disabled and have a blue badge. A friend took me into M & S at Kendal for me to do some shopping.

I walk very slowly and this together with the time it takes to get my wheelchair out of and back into the car meant that our time between arrival and departure was one hour and nine minutes and we had paid for one hour.

My friend subsequently received a fine from Euro Parks for £85.

My husband complained to the manager at M & S, who said there was nothing they could do. Yes there is - sack Euro Parks and let South Lakleand District Council run the car park. At least the money would then stay in the town.

Your report said there is a 'grace period'. It must be measured in micro seconds.
