THE vision of a restored Grange Lido was presented to a group of MPs and other influential guests at a prestigious Westminster event this week.
Hosted by Owen Smith, who shared the story of Lido Ponty in the Welsh constituency he represents, the audience included Westmorland and Lonsdale MP Tim Farron and South Lakeland District Councillor Robin Ashcroft.
Prominent among the following speakers was Phil Bradby of the Save Grange Lido group, who described their plans for a restored swimming pool complex for the currently derelict facility.
"It was a real privilege to speak at this event," said Mr Bradby.
"We presented our plans and explained our work towards revitalising the pool as a 21st century facility.
"We met lots of MPs and important people in the industry and hope this will help pave the way to bring stakeholders from around South Lakeland together behind one vision for the lido focussed on a swimming pool."
