MORE than 1,600 primary school pupils from Cumbria and north Lancashire attended two open days at Heaves Farm, near Kendal.
The children learned about various aspects of farming and food, including milk production, calving and silage.
The open days, organised and funded by the Westmorland County Agricultural Society, cost in the region of £10,000, with the money coming from the annual Westmorland County Show.
