Unfortunately, after it was reported by various news organisations that June had been the planet's hottest on record (with the good weather continuing in to July), earlier this week the Met Office warned of thunderstorms and heavy showers predicted for today - with parts of northern England, Northern Ireland and Scotland set to be affected.
Warmer weather is predicted to return again at the weekend, however, with temperatures in many parts of Cumbria forecasted by the Met Office to be once again in the 20s.
