CALLS are to be made for North Yorkshire County Council to become carbon neutral by 2030.
Two councillors, Richard Cooper and David Chance, are to set out their aspirations at Wednesday's county council meeting.
They will be raising a motion calling on England's largest council to commit to producing its own carbon reduction plan, in an effort to beat the government goal of reducing greenhouse gas emissions to almost zero by 2050.
The council is already cutting CO2 emission and using less water.
