A WOMAN was rescued early this morning close to Jubilee Bridge.
At around 4am, Furness Coastguard was called to help the woman who was seen in the water.
Working alongside Cumbria Fire & Rescue Service, Cumbria Police and North West Ambulance Service, the casualty was safely rescued and brought ashore for further care.
A Furness Coastguard representative said: "The team quickly mobilised and working alongside Cumbria Fire & Rescue Service, Cumbria Police and North West Ambulance Service the casualty was safely rescued and brought ashore for further care."
Barrow Lifeboat and Millom Coastguard Rescue Team were tasked but later stood down once the lady was safely recovered.
