David Morris MP has been unanimously readopted by Morecambe and Lunesdale Conservatives to fight the next election.

Speaking after a meeting of the Morecambe and Lunesdale Conservative Association Executive on Friday, the association's chair Marcus Hayes MBE said: "As Chairman of the Association it was a real pleasure to preside over David’s readoption.

"n MP who has never been afraid to stand up in the House of Commons and fight for local people and their rights, I look forward to continuing to work with David. The party and the constituency has an MP it can be rightly proud of.”

Mr Morris said: "I am delighted that Morecambe and Lunesdale Conservative Association have reaffirmed their support for me and have completed the formal process to allow me to stand again as a Conservative at the next general election.

"In 2010 I stood on a manifesto of change and secured the delivery of the M6 Link Road. We are now starting to see the economic benefits to our area.
