POLICE and firefighters were called following a road traffic collision between a Ford Ranger Wildtrak and a Lancashire police vehicle.

The incident occurred on Monday at around 9pm on the M6 Southbound between J38 and J37.

Three fire engines from Kendal, Shap and Sedbergh attended the scene.

Cumbria Fire and Rescue assisted with the extrication of two casualties who were then left in the care of paramedics.

The driver of the police vehicle, a 33-year-old man from Lancashire, suffered minor injuries.

Two passengers in the car also suffered minor injuries.

The driver of the Ranger, a 31-year-old man from Lancaster, suffered minor injuries.
