SPECTACULAR science shows will be centre stage at Morecambe Winter Gardens as EDF Energy’s Heysham power stations team host workshops and Dan Plane also performs.
Dan, of the Royal Institution, is now a regular performer at the science shows, which have become an integral part of the Morecambe Carnival weekend – August 10/11.
Sarah Marshall, Heysham power stations Visitor Centre co-ordinator, has organised the two-day event, bringing in groups such as Lancaster and Morecambe College, Lancaster University and The Bee Centre to offer fascinating hands-on workshops.
She said: “This free event has grown and grown, and always proves very popular. Dan is an amazing performer and has wowed audiences with an array of super science scenarios, this year’s promises to the best ever.
“In between shows those in the Winter Gardens can try their hand at virtual reality, as well as learning how vital bees are to our lives.
“Before and after the shows, stands will be available for visitors to explore and will be situated around the stalls in the Winter Gardens.
“We have to limit each of the four sessions to 600 tickets and there is already lots of interest in the events.”
Tickets for the events on Saturday, August 10 (11am-noon and 2pm-3pm), Sunday August 11 (11.30am-12.30pm and 3pm-4pm), are free but need to be booked in advance, through: https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/o/24471376876
