A UNIFORM share took place at Sandylands Methodist Church, Kendal.

Lots of families were given a helping hand providing uniforms for their children ahead of the new school year in September, thanks to donations made at a collection point in Morrisons. The donation point was organised by Kirsty Ireland (second right), Kendal Morrisons community champion.

The event was also supported by Kendal People’s Cafe as well as Simply Repair, which provided a free repair ‘cafe’.

In addition to providing support by collecting uniforms, Morrisons also offered their remaining school stock from last year.

Kendal Town Councillor Adam Edwards said: “I feel everyone involved, including our mayor, thought tonight was such an important scheme in ensuring every child has the best chance of starting their school year on the best foot and going some way to stamping out child poverty within our town.”
