A PAIR of teenagers took home the spoils for Cumbria in a national sailing competition.
Alfie Cogger, 16, from Kendal and Simon Hall, 18, from West Kirby (sailing for Cumbria as a guest) vied for the Mount Haes Trophy at the National Schools Sailing Association Regatta, held at the Weymouth and Portland National Sailing Academy on the Isle of Portland.
The pair faced stiff competition, coming up against teams from all over the country.
However, not ones to be daunted, Alfie and Simon won their heat, before proceeding to the semi-final and final, where they came first.
There was success for the Cumbrian contingent in other competitions too. Representatives of the county took home medals for first RS200, first RS Tera Pro and first RS Tera Sport.
