River and beck levels are forecast to rise as a result of persistent heavy rainfall over the South Lakes area. Consequently, flooding of roads and farmland is possible today into tomorrow in the Langdale, Grasmere, Ambleside, Troutbeck, Windermere, Hawkshead, Rusland Valley, Newby Bridge, Backbarrow, Cartmel, Cark and Winster Valley areas.

Flooding of properties is not forecast at this point.

* Rivers Kent and Bela

Flooding is possible - be prepared

River levels have risen at the Staveley Village and Mint Bridge river gauge as a result of heavy rainfall. Consequently, flooding of roads and farmland is possible today and tomorrow.

Low lying land and roads in the Staveley, Ings, Burneside, Kendal, Garnett Bridge, Stainton, Sedgwick, Holme, Beetham and Milnthorpe areas may be affected. High river levels are possible on the Rivers Kent, Gowan, Sprint, Mint, Stock Beck, Stainton Beck, Peasey Beck, Farleton Beck, River Bela, Holme Beck and their tributaries.

Flooding of properties is not forecast at this point.

River levels are forecast to rise this morning in response to heavy rainfall overnight at the Duddon Hall river gauge.

Low lying land and roads in the Duddon and Crake catchments may be affected. River and beck levels will respond in the Duddon and Crake catchments with low lying land and roads in the Dunnerdale, Duddon Bridge, Millom, Broughton-in-Furness, Kirkby-in-Furness, Soutergate, Coniston, Ulverston, Dalton-in-Furness and Barrow-in-Furness areas also potentially affected from heavy showers and thunderstorms throughout the rest of today.
