POLICE were called to a jack-knifed lorry which was blocking a section of the A595.

Lanes were shut between the A595, Duddon Bridge, and A593, Broughton in Furness for several hours while the vehicle was recovered.

Officers say the lorry was blocking both carriageways and it was not passable by traffic.

Police were called to the incident at around 11.50am today.

There are no reported injuries.

There were long tailbacks and congestion in the area and drivers were asked to plan their journey accordingly.
