THE number of patients triaged with the emergency department operated by the area's NHS Trust within 15 minutes of arrival has risen significantly thanks to a new system.

Since the Analytic Command Centre system came into operation, the figure has climbed from 70 per cent in April to June 2018 to 94 per cent for the same period in 2019.

In addition, the number of nights where a medical patient has been cared for on a non-medical ward due to bed pressure has decreased by more than 1,800 bed-days or 47 per cent in the same time period.

"We have seen some fantastic results since the Analytic Command Centre was implemented which is helping our teams to plan ahead with the resources they have to give the very best care to our patients,” said Foluke Ajayi, chief operating officer of the University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust.
