A FAMILY bakery in Ingleton has used its loaf to win an amazing nine top awards for their bread products.

Daniel Nemeth, who runs Seasons Bakery at Ingleton, said he was surprised and honoured after winning award stars for all eight of the products he entered in the Great Taste Awards, which are run by The Guild of Fine Food.

"The awards are very prestigious and only 12.5 per cent of products which enter win a star, so we are absolutely delighted," he said.

The bakery's Christmas sourdough loaf and its toasted malt and rye wheat sourdough bread both won two star awards, while six other products, including the delicious sounding pear and stilton sourdough, were awarded one star.

A one star award also went to the bakery's renowned beetroot sourdough, which was a finalist in the British Bakery Industry Awards in 2017.

And the accolades are just the latest to be earned by Seasons Bakery, which in its 17 years of operation has become a well established local business employing 18 people and which now supplies around 90 customers across the region.

Mr Nemeth and his colleagues will travel to London shortly for the 2019 British Industry Wards, when they hope to add further to their list of honours.

And the thriving bakery has now opened a bakery school on adjacent premises in Ingleton.

Classes on how to bake bread and improve bakery skills for those who baking is a hobby are on offer, and are already booked up well in advance.
