A LEAVING party is due to take place this weekend for the landlord and landlady of a pub.
Nicky and Dru Royle of the Red Lion in Dalton are set to leave the pub - blaming a struggling industry.
A leaving party for the pair will take place on Saturday starting at 4pm.
There will be live music from Cellar 5 and Belle.
The Market Street pub has been for sale for around a year and the landlords are set to move on at the end of their lease.
The pub’s last day of trading will be Sunday.
Mrs Royle said she would miss the pub dearly but would step away from the industry amid a difficult climate.
She said: “The pub industry is really struggling.
“People used to go round town on pub crawls but it seems like fewer and fewer of them are doing it now.
“It’s really sad it’s come to this.”
She and her husband have run the pub since 2014.
No-one else has come forward to take over the pub.
