A SECTION of the M6 is to close overnight for four weekends.

Resurfacing work is due to be carried out between Lancaster and Carnforth from the middle of next month.

Highways England is resurfacing the northbound carriageway and the slip roads of that area of the M6.

The works will start on Friday September 13 and will require overnight closures of the M6 northbound between junction 34 and junction 35.

Between September 13 and 15, the northbound Junction 35 exit and entry slip roads will be closed between 8pm and 6am on Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights.

Then the next three weekends will see a full closure of the M6 northbound carriageway from junction 34 over the three nights Friday to Sunday between 9pm and 5am.
