An accountancy firm has announced the acquisition of another practice.
Stables Thompson & Briscoe, in Kendal's Lowther Street, has bought J Noel Paul & Co, in Kirkby Stephen.
Stables Thompson & Briscoe employs 12 people and has been in existence since the 1930’s.
It has four directors; Helen Holmes, Phil Cottam, Francis Tidmarsh and Chloe Chapman-Hastwell
J Noel Paul & Co’s office in Kirkby Stephen will stay open, with partners Geoff Hastwell and Paul Sanderson running it alongside Stables Thompson & Briscoe director Chloe Chapman-Hastwell and existing staff.
Chloe said: “I am looking forward to working from the Kirkby Stephen office and meeting their clients and professional contacts shortly.
“ I am Kirkby Stephen born and bred and one of the J. Noel Paul & Co. partners, Geoff Hastwell, is my father in law so it is a good way to carry on his family name.
“The directors of Stables Thompson & Briscoe decided to acquire the practice as it has similar values and ethos to ours and is an excellent opportunity to expand.
“We will be running the office in Kirkby Stephen with the existing staff and will increase the services available to include audit and assurance work."
