TULLIE House Museum staff arrived at the primary school complete with a set of Roman costumes and artefacts. They were very impressed with how much the children knew and how keen everybody was to learn more. Class Two were able to have extra time and examined one or two objects from the artefact box. The two different replica swords fascinated the children as did the oddly shaped medicine spoon that was actually used for cleaning ears.
The primary school has been accepted by Asda in Kendal for the green token scheme to raise money for their Pod. This will run until the end of September.

YOGA classes at the public hall have restarted on Monday evenings. A mellow class focusing on breathing, supported stretching and gentle flows, with chair-based options available. This is followed by a stronger class, still with emphasis on breathing and long mindful stretches, but with more energetic flows included (7.15pm). Both classes finish with a guided relaxation and are suitable for beginners to those who are more experienced. The first class is free for newcomers.

THE September meeting of Old Hutton WI will be on Tuesday, September 17, when members can look forward to making necklaces or bracelets, which can be purchased. An outing is being arranged on the evening of October 10 to hear the songs from Tell Me On A Sunday at the Old Laundry Theatre, Bowness-on-Windermere. Anyone who would like to see the musical should telephone Ruth Rigg on 01539-722896 or Chris Bowness on 01539-725880.
