BURGLARS escaped with a large haul of kitchen utensils, ornaments and valuable goods in a raid on a house.

Police are investigating a burglary on Greengate Crescent, Levens between 7.30am on August 31 and 5pm on September 10.

Among the items stolen were: a small silver pepper pot octagon shaped; a silver salt pot with blue glass inside; six silver forks; three large silver forks; two silver table spoons; two silver napkin rings, 12 nickel plated tea spoons; a pair of silver sugar tongs; two small silver candle holders; one pewter curled up whippet dog lying down ornament; two crouching Labrador type dogs statues; small silver bowls, silver-plated cigarette lighter; two small cigarette cases and a case of a watch inscribed d’olycarte opera company presented with the date 1917.
