THE volunteer group which operates Ulverston’s Ford Park have expressed their delight at being awarded an ‘Outstanding’ certificate in this year’s Cumbria in Bloom Awards.
The park, which is run by the charity Ford Park Community Group, received an ‘It’s Your Neighbourhood Award of Level Five – outstanding’.
“It is such wonderful news to be acknowledged by the Cumbria in Boom judges once again," said Valerie Madden, gardener at Ford Park.
“The award recognises the hard work carried out by not only our small team of staff, but more importantly, our brilliant and dedicated volunteers.
"They work together in all weathers to ensure our park looks attractive and offers a beautiful outdoor space for the community, so a huge amount of thanks has to go to them. ”
