THE latest recipient of The Mail’s Bouquet of the Week is a ‘lovely’ woman who has helped vulnerable people find confidence and opportunities.

Kim Woodcock, from the charity Women’s Community Matters, has been said to go ‘above and beyond’ in her role as project worker.

She was nominated for the flowers by Mica Stitt, who was thankful for Kim for helping her.

Mica, 24, said: “Since beginning my work with Kim I have gained a lot of confidence in myself, am more aware of what is classed as a ‘safe relationship’, my son has been returned back to me and I have just been accepted for a job with Creative Support.

“Without all the support and constant encouragement from Kim, none of this would have been possible.

“She has really built me back up and made me into the woman I am today.

“She’s absolutely brilliant and so thoughtful.”

Mica added Kim lived down the road from her and was always there to help.

“She always looks out for me. She has always gone above and beyond in helping me.

“She’s done absolute everything for me.

“If I ever have any problems she is always there for me.”

Rebecca Rawlings, senior officer at Women’s Community Matters, also praised Kim.

She said: “She’s a lovely, kind person who is a valuable member of the team.

“She used to support people who have experienced domestic abuse.

“Now she helps people in getting back in to work and finding opportunities.”

Women’s Community Matters aims to support women in a number of ways.

This includes benefits, housing, domestic or sexual abuse, the police, courts, prison, mental wellbeing, employment, education and social activities.

It runs a range of courses, support groups, activities and appointments in a safe space.
