PLEASE may we offer reassurance to our clients.

Recently it has been brought to our attention that there is an unpleasant scheme to worry vulnerable and elderly people about the efficacy of their ‘lifeline’ panic alarms.

Community Alarms South Lakeland is most definitely not on the verge of withdrawing the service.

Were we ever to make any changes in our service, rest assured that we would be in touch in writing on our official letter-headed paper.

We try to visit our clients annually but we will always telephone in advance to make sure it is convenient. We would never change a system without visiting in person.

If anyone has received a call telling them "the red button service" is about to be stopped, call us at Community Alarms in Kendal on 01539-735805.

If you are not one of our clients, make sure you press your alarm button and talk to your call centre operator for clarification. All the systems work in a similar way and your provider will be able to put your mind at rest.

As a rule of thumb, test calls are a very good idea, both to give the user confidence and check the system.

All any operator wants to know is their clients are safe and sound and, if not, they will call for help.

With very best wishes to all our clients.
