Two members of staff at West Cumbrian firm Indelible Data have become Mental Health First Aiders, accredited by Mental First Aid England following a two-day course organised by Britain’s Energy Coast Business Cluster.

Business administration apprentice Georgia Routledge attended the course along with finance and operations director Anna Wilson.

Georgia, who is also a qualified First Aider, said: “Mental health problems are more talked about now and it is good to know there is someone there who is trained to listen and talk especially as the workplace is where we spend the majority of our waking hours.

“Having a Mental Health First Aider in the work place could make a really big difference.”

There are now more than 350,000 in England who are trained to recognise mental ill health.

Mrs Wilson said Indelible Data, a cyber security specialist, saw staff as its biggest asset so it was common sense to look out for all their health needs.
