BUSINESSES of a Copeland town will come together to discuss how to improve the area.

Cleator Moor Chamber of Trade wants the town's businesses to share ideas on how to boost the local economy.

Dave Farrell, chairman of the organisation, said: "We want to try to take things to another level in terms of business in the town and decided to have a networking event."

Businesses will also be able share ideas on how a promised Government grant of up to £25million could be spent in Cleator Moor.

The grant is designed to boost productivity and raise living standards.

The event will see speakers addressing business owners and sharing success stories.

It will take place at the Ennerdale Country House Hotel on Wednesday, September 18 from 6pm.

Mr Farrell said: "We want to build on the successes of the last 12 months and we want to see people getting involved."
