A HUGE thank you to everyone involved with the recent afternoon tea at Netherfield Cricket Club, Kendal, which raised £1,604 to support CRY for Cumbria, our fundraising campaign to bring heart screening to Kendal in August 2020.

Special thanks to Cracking Spread for their always amazing food, plus Riverbank Catering, Sandylands Spar, Low Sizergh Barn, The Little Miss Bakery, Ginger Bakers, Sheryl Anderson, Morrisons Kendal, Method at Fell, The Bakery at No. 4 and Momma's Foods for their superb contributions; and thanks also for raffle prizes from LCM, Hackney & Leigh Lettings, Romney's Kendal Mint Cake, Asda Kendal, Centre Parcs Whinfell Forest, Shelley Gibson Hair & Beauty, Ravenglass Railway Museum and Stonecross Manor Hotel.

Donations from individuals contributed to a wonderful afternoon and helped to take the fundraising beyond our £10,000 target.

Thank you also to the Dodds family, who generously gave all donations from the collection at the funeral of Geoffrey Peter Dodds, of Kendal.

Debbie Dixon [with the help of charity CRY, Cardiac Risk in Young] has agreed to bring another heart screening to Kendal in 2021 so we will continue to raise funds in her son Aaron's memory during the next 12 months, which will go towards bringing this vital screening to our area.

Our next event is on Saturday, October 19 at the Castle Green Hotel, Kendal, and will be a Comedy Showtime featuring Stephen Hall and Elaine Burke. Tickets are £7.50 so please come along and support us.
