A STEAM engine that took six years to build was unveiled at a South Lakeland farm at the weekend.
The Talisman Fowler B6 Road Locomotive was the dream of Alex Sharphouse, who worked with friends and craftsmen in a painstaking project to restore the engine. Crowds of steam enthusiasts gathered at Old Hall Farm in Bouth, which is owned by Alex and Charlotte Sharphouse, to see the results of the restoration.
The Talisman, dubbed ‘king of the road’, was displayed following its first outing at Shrewsbury Rally. The team who worked on the project celebrated the day with a beer as they showed off the fruits of their hard work.
The project, in partnership with Morris Lubricants, has seen Mr Sharphouse and his friends Jak and Roger Dibnah, traditional businesses and craftsmen, all work tirelessly to bring the engine back to life.
