HEARTBROKEN colleagues paid their final respects to PC Oliver Evans at his funeral yesterday.
Police officers formed a guard of honour and lined the path leading to Cartmel Priory as they said their goodbyes to the Mobile Support Group officer.
PC Evans, 27, died following a collision near Sedbergh on September 16.
He began his career in Barrow before moving on to become a firearms officer at Cumbria Roads Police.
A police spokesman said: "He was a dedicated, professional officer who was well-liked and respected by his colleagues.
"The thoughts of everyone at Cumbria Constabulary remain with his family, his partner Holly and friends at this time."
PC Evans was riding a Triumph motorcycle when the collision took place involving a Peugeot van on the A683 at Middleton at 4.40pm.
His family said at the time: “He always had a story to tell, entertaining his family and friends with tales of his adventures, his smile and vibrant personality filling the room.
“Oliver had a mature outlook on life and there is no doubt that he was wise beyond his 27 years.
“Oliver was a confident and headstrong individual; he was a true professional and focused both his work and home life around his strong morals and family values."
