A KENDAL man has released a graphic novel continuing the adventures of a woman attempting to settle on a new planet.
Book two of the ‘Venna’s Planet’ series, entitled ‘Scorching Darkness’, is by Robin Evans, known in the cartooning world as ‘Evsie the Kind Kartoonist’.
The book, which features scantily-clad characters and lots of dialogue, is targeted at an adult audience.
It follows the adventures of protagonist Venna, as she attempts to settle on the planet of ‘Promise’; a task which is, naturally, fraught with obstacles.
Mr Evans has had a passion for drawing since he was a child and has spent decades using his talent to make himself a living - drawing caricatures at weddings and other functions, doing illustrations for companies and producing comic strips for magazines.
He said: “I love drawing. When I was a child I was most happy when I was left alone and I could create my own comic strips.”
Mr Evans is holding a launch and signing event tomorrow and Sunday, from 11am to 4pm along New Shambles in Kendal, where he will also be drawing cartoons. This is not a part of the Lakes International Comic Art Festival, taking place in the town over the same weekend.
‘Scorching Darkness’ is part of a planned trilogy and is available to buy on Amazon.
