An overturned lorry and a campervan are causing major delays on the M6.

M6 road users are being urged to plan their route after the crash.

It happened south of the county between Junction 32 and 33 near Preston.

Highways England have staff working to restore the flow of traffic a spokesman said: "The M6 currently has delays of at least 120 minutes northbound from J32 to J33 and 60 minutes southbound.

The delays are due to a road traffic collision involving an overturned HGV with lanes two and three closed northbound and lane three closed southbound.

"For traffic approaching the delays locally, you are advised to expect disruption with extra journey time and you may wish to re-route or delay your journey.

"If travelling towards this area from much farther afield, you may wish to change your strategic route, allow extra travel time and follow guidance from our on-road variable message signs and media."
