The damaged Millthrop Bridge
Millthrop Bridge at Millthrop, near Sedbergh, is closed both following a traffic incident.
It is understood that a heavy goods vehicle was in collision with the bridge at around 2.30pm yesterday, causing significant damage.

The bridge over the River Rawthey on Loftus Hill, between Sedbergh and Millthrop, is expected to be closed for quite some time due to damage sustained.
Police said they were investigating and anyone with any information is asked to contact PC 2723 Parkin on 101, email 101@cumbria.police.uk, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111, quoting log 117 of the 14th October 2019.
