Storrs Hall is a Grade II*-listed mansion, set in 17 acres of private grounds on the lake shore. Built in the 1790s by the Yorkshire landowner Sir John Legard, the hall's guests in its heyday of private ownership included poets William Wordsworth and Robert Southey.

Storrs Hall was bought in 1997 by Les Hindle, a Lancashire businessman, who used his talents to carry out a sympathetic restoration.Andrew Nicholson, general manager at Storrs Hall, said the team were "thrilled" to have been recognised for their work.

“We’re absolutely delighted to have been shortlisted for this award," he said. "Throughout the year we host dozens of weddings and special occasions, with the whole team working together to ensure everything comes together seamlessly.

"This work ethic and dedication, paired with our magnificent location and excellent facilities, combines to deliver an outstanding experience for our guests. It’s extremely rewarding when our hard work is recognised, and both I and the rest of the team at the hotel are thrilled.”
