AWARD-winning Sonia Sabri Company is one of the UK’s leading dance and music companies renowned for dazzling, lively performances created by directors Sonia and Sarvar Sabri. Their work is inspired by Indian and British culture and they have an international reputation for presenting Kathak - one of the major forms of classical dance in India - in a contemporary context.

On Saturday, November 9, (3pm), the Birmingham-based company performs it colourful new dance show for ages five plus and adults at Kirkby Stephen Sports and Social Club as part of Highlights Rural Touring Scheme.

SSC's Same Same…But Different production has been put together in collaboration with a number of primary schools in Birmingham and London and the children’s creative ideas and experiences of being different and belonging have been brought into the show.

Inspired by the well-known phrase ‘same, same...but different’, meaning something kind of similar, but not the exact same thing, three dancer-musicians conjure a magical atmosphere that celebrates individuality, diversity and the bonds which connect us all.
