2020 is the 75th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz, and many of the 300 Jewish children who came to the Lake District to recover after the war had been in Auschwitz.
The Lake District Holocaust Project is involved in a number of initiatives and would like to know if you have or know of any film archive of the Lake District from the 1930s/40s/50s.
We’re looking for some generic footage showing life in the Lakes around that time to use in a historical documentary for BBC4 about the group of child Holocaust survivors who came to Windermere in the summer of 1945.
If you can help, please contact producer Guy Arthur at guy.arthur@walltowall.co.uk
