TWO teenagers who were arrested after the report of a rape of a girl aged under 16 in Appleby have been charged.
Police said the youths were arrested on May 30.
The pair, who are both 15-years-old, cannot be named for legal reasons.
Officers said both teenagers were from the Staffordshire area.
Detectives have been investigating the alleged offence and on Wednesday (October 30) charged both youths with rape.
A spokesman from Cumbria Police said both are due to appear at Carlisle Magistrates’ Court on November 13.
