Describe a typical Christmas Day in your household

As my children are now teenagers, we tend to go ski-ing on Christmas Day so that we are surrounded by snow. We are hoping to go to Scotland this year.

Which was your best Christmas – and why?

When the children were young. Getting up at 5am with them and feeling their sense of excitement when they still believed in Father Christmas was wonderful.

Who do you think would make the most entertaining guest to invite to Christmas dinner (dead or alive) – and why?

Miranda Hart. I would love her to come to our Christmas dinner and we could do a workout beforehand. I know she likes her lunges!

What was your best Christmas present as a child?

A little toy oven that baked cakes. It was brilliant!

What is your favourite carol or Christmas pop song – and why?

White Christmas by Bing Crosby. It's timeless and I love Bing Crosby's voice.

What is your favourite festive ramble for walking off all the mince pies and turkey?

A walk to Rydal with a quick dip in the lake.

If you could spend Christmas Day anywhere in the world, apart from at home, where would it be – and why?

Anywhere where there is snow for me makes a magical Christmas
