I WAS interested to read John Graham’s letter highlighting the almost £200,000 of taxpayers' money allocated to investigate electric vehicle charging points in the district (Letters, November 7, 'Plug-in points seldom used').
Once again the poor are being fleeced by the crony capitalist green lobby. Electric cars cost upwards of £25,000 and yet their buyers receive the gift of £3,500 from the humble taxpayer.
Additionally, the wealthy owners receive grants for home charging, free road tax, generous capital allowances (for business owners) and free parking at some charge points.
