I WAS very interested indeed in the article about the days when major rock bands played at Lancaster University (Gazette, October 31, 'Golden days when rock stars flocked to play in Lancaster).
In late 1975, being quite a fan of the Sensational Alex Harvey Band (often abbreviated to SAHB), I booked a ticket to see them perform there, only to turn up on the due evening to be met with a poster announcing "To-night - the Sensational Alex Harvey Band - without Alex Harvey".
I certainly attended the concert, but cannot recall if a reason was given for the non-appearance of the man himself. A bit like a Stones gig without Mick Jagger!
