NORMAN Holloway's picture in the Gazette on November 14, 2019 showed the date stone 1563 above Pete Bland Sports in Kirkland, making the property more than 450 years old. Above is a decorative gable with an intricate weather vane.
The buildings in this part of Kendal are all very different in style and have not changed much during those years. This, the oldest part of the town, also includes Kendal Parish Church (1201) and the Ring o' Bells pub (1741).
