FREE performance art workshops are being held at Kirkby Stephen Grammar School this month.
Students from a number of different schools are being invited to attend a two-day event led by Kirkby Stephen Community Arts (KSCA) and also involving London-based theatre company Tangled Feet.
In summer 2018, a production of 'Keeping it Low-Key' was held in the grounds of the grammar school, and KSCA and Tangled Feet are again joining forces for a similar performance next year.
However, the two organisations will first work with young people to help them hone their skills in this month's workshops.
Vicki Woof, project manager for KSCA, said: “We were thrilled with the success of the 2018 production and hope that future performances will be just as inspiring.
"These two days of workshops are a great opportunity for local young people to work with Tangled Feet and start thinking about what next year’s full production might be.”
The workshops are open to students in years 6 to 13 at Kirkby Stephen Grammar School and Appleby Grammar School, as well as the Kirkby Stephen, Brough, Orton, Warcop and Tebay Primary Schools.
They are taking place on Saturday, October 23 and Sunday, October 24, from 10am-4pm.
There are 100 places available. These need booking in advance at www.kirkbystephencommunityarts.co.uk.
