THE Masonic Charitable Foundation made a donation of £1,495 to St Mary’s Hospice, Ulverston.

Three Freemasons also paid the hospice a visit, including Keith Kemp, who said: “The national masonic charity annually donates to those hospices who receive less than 60 per cent of their funding from the NHS. The donation to St Mary’s is part of the £300,000 distributed to such organisations this year.”

Alison Alger, head of fundraising at the St Mary’s, said: “The Freemasons, both through the Masonic Charitable Foundation and the local lodges, are regular supporters of the hospice. We are grateful for their donations which assist us to offer our wide range of services for the benefit of the local community.”
