A MAN from Kendal has been charged with robbery and possession of an offensive weapon in a public place following an incident at Oxenholme.

Colin Eaves, 33, from Kendal, who is of no fixed address, appeared at South Cumbria Magistrates Court earlier today and has been remanded in custody.

A robbery reportedly occurred at around 10.30pm on Friday at Oxenholme Filling Station on Burton Road.

Police said a man entered the shop at the station and stole a number of items.

Staff present were said to have been threatened by the man, who left the shop on foot.

No-one was injured during the incident.

Police are asking anyone who may have witnessed suspicious activity in the area or who has any other information to call 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111, quoting log 242 of November 22.

Mr Eaves will next appear in court on January 6, 2020.
