The band, who hail from the Highlands of Scotland, have exploded on to the indie folk scene with unparalleled effect.

Fusing rich folk and trad influences with funk, rock and electronica, the fiery five-piece band are a musical power house, welding weapons-grade grooves and guitar attack with quicksilver fiddle/mandolin melodies.

WINDERMERE Christmas Celebration (formerly known as Windermere Christmas Market) is an exciting family-friendly event on the streets of Windermere, put together by the Windermere Information Centre, Councillor Ben Berry and Mountain Goat. An Ice Rink made possible by generous donation from Lakes Hospitality Association, will be open early in Friday, December 13. The Lakes Hospitality Association has confirmed that it will be covering the cost of the rink in order that admission to this attraction is then ring-fenced to ensure the future of the event, which has, in the last four years, gone from strength to strength and ensured that what was previously a quiet weekend in December is now one of the highest-grossing weekends of the year for Windermere businesses.

It will be the first time an ice-skating rink has been present at the event since it was started in 2016 and those involved in the planning have voiced their excitement.

A CHRISTMAS Carol Service by Candlelight with Burneside Brass is to be held at St Herbert's Roman Catholic Church on Wednesday, December 18, at 7.30pm.

Mulled wine and mince pies will follow in the Maryholm Centre. The proceeds are for Mary's Meals. Everyone is welcome.
