NORMAN Holloway's picture in the Gazette on November 28, 2019 showed a small section of the mural on the walls of Old Police Yard between Finkle Street and Market Place.
In 1817, due to a lack of public order, a number of local tradesmen created patrols to keep peace in the town .
Fifteen years later Kendal’s first police station was formed in this yard in 1832.
The mural was painted as part of Kendal Civic Society's 50th anniversary celebrations.
