THE Committee of the Marchesi Centre are hosting a Christmas Coffee Morning in the Centre on Saturday, December 7 (10am-12noon). All proceeds are to go to the Centre.

AMBLESIDE & District Choral Society, many of whom are from the Bowness and Windermere area, are presenting their Christmas Concert at the Ambleside Parish Church on Saturday, 14 December (7.30pm). The programme is Puccini's Messa di Gloria and includes choral repertoire for 4-part choir and tenor and baritone soloists.

Its style is operative and clearly influenced by Puccini's hero, Verdi. It is a remarkable work for an eighteen year old Italian composer, full of colour, vitality and musical surprises.

Soloists Jonathan Millican and Christopher Steele will also be singing duets including the famous Pearl Fishes Duet and the choir will be singing a Carrolly Christmas, conducted by the composer, Jonathan Millican.

The admission charge includes a glass of wine and children go free. Tickets available on the door or can be purchased in advance from choir members or from Fred's Bookshop in Ambleside.

WINDERMERE Christmas Celebration (formerly known as Windermere Christmas Market) is an exciting family friendly event on the streets of Windermere put together by the Windermere Information Centre, Councillor Ben Berry and Mountain Goat, this fun filled event will take part on, Saturday December 14, 2019 (10am-7pm) and Sunday December 15, 2019 (11am-4pm).
