Adam Armstrong’s fine second-half strike made it four straight wins for Rovers.

His magic moment settled a game low on quality, the visitors now having lost five in a row away from home without scoring.

Christian Walton 7

Had very little to do. Mopped up well when needed, one mix-up late on with Lenihan aside, before saving from Marriott late on in Derby’s only shot on target.

Ryan Nyambe 7

Had plenty of joy down the right, especially in the first half, and blocked a shot bravely with his face in the second half.

Darragh Lenihan 8

The captain does what the captain does. Solid as a rock, summed up by one moment where he followed up a crunching tackle with a towering header.

STAR MAN: Tosin Adarabioyo 8

Composure and passing ability stood out in first half before he showed he could do the dirty stuff as well in the second half when Rovers sat back too much late on. A fine all-round display at the back.

Stewart Downing 7

Stuck to his task well defensively against Jayden Bogle and got forward with quality down the left when he could.

Corry Evans 8

Good work set up an early chance for Bradley Dack and got stuck in in the middle of the park as his partnership with Travis continues to reap rewards.

Lewis Travis 7

Passing mixed at times but should have had an assist for Adam Armstrong on the stroke of half-time.

Adam Armstrong 7

Frustrated in the early stages, saw a big chance come and go on the stroke of half-time before a fine strike out of nothing, his fourth goal of the season, sealed victory.

Bradley Dack 8

Came close with two decent openings in the first half, the second coming after a move started by a fine piece of skill on halfway. At the heart of all Rovers’ good work in the final third.

Joe Rothwell 7

All action as ever on his 50th league appearance for the club. Unfortunate to by and large see his promising runs lack an end product.

Danny Graham 7

Kept his place ahead of Gallagher, who replaced him midway through the second half, and led the line well. Saw a header hit the side netting from a first-half corner.

Sam Gallagher 7

On for the final quarter and offered a real threat, one piece of skill down the right particularly catching the eye. Also nearly had an assist for Armstrong.

Elliott Bennett 6

On for the final few minutes, played one delightful crossfield pass for Dack.

John Buckley 6

A late, late sub for Armstrong, had little chance to impact the game in five minutes of added on time.
