Police urge the public not to approach a man who is suspected to have been involved in a firearms incident.
Officers are asking the public to call 999 if they have seen Brian Capstick, 48 or his vehicle.
Just after 11pm last night police were called after a gun was fired in a property in the Bootle area.
Police are searching for a turquoise Fiat Doblo, registration number BD60 MXG.
Officers are urging the public across the county to look out for the vehicle, but not to approach it.
Superintendent Justin Bibby said: “We would like the public’s help in locating Mr Capstick.
“No one was injured during the incident and a search operation is ongoing.
“If you see him or this vehicle, do not to approach – dial 999.”
Mr Capstick is described as white, 6ft 1ins tall and of slim build. He is clean-shaven with short grey hair and possibly wearing jeans and a grey coat.
Anyone with information is urged to contact police on 999.
