CROSTHWAITE Christmas Fair was a great success, raising more than £500 in village hall funds.
Members of Crosthwaite and Lyth WI enjoyed their recent Christmas party, where they were treated to a very entertaining nostalgic look at archive footage of Cumbria in the 1950s and 60s, presented by Jim Bownass. This was followed by a quiz. Grateful thanks are given to Jim who stepped in at short notice due to the illness of the scheduled speaker.
CROSTHWAITE Exchange is taking a break over Christmas. It will resume with the new year’s lunch on Wednesday, January 8 at 1pm.
CHRISTMAS services at St Mary’s Crosthwaite will be as follows: on Thursday, December 19 at 7.30pm there will be a quiet and reflective Christmas service with carols and readings; on Sunday, December 22 at 5pm there will be a Christmas carol service; on Tuesday, December 24 at 4.30pm is 'crib and carols'; on Tuesday, December 24 at 11.15pm will be a midnight communion.
