A ROUSING performance of The recent Arnside Ladies Choir concert 'Showstoppers, Hits from the Musicals' performed by the Arnside Ladies' Choir and directed by Terry Fleming had a packed audience at the village hall on their feet.
The event was the centrepiece of a fundraising effort in the village on behalf of 'Action on Postpartum Psychosis,' a little known but very frightening mental illness which affects 1 to 2 in every 1,000 mothers.
The concert raised £629.60 and when this total was added to the JustGiving page (justgiving/fundraising/David-Mervin) meant that close to £3,000 has so far been contributed.
A spokeswoman for the charity expressed heartfelt thanks and gratitude to all involved.
"Being such a small charity every donation received really does help to make a big difference, and helps us to continue developing our information and operating our peer support services," she said.
